I'm about to depart on the first road trip in my mustang GT. I've owned it just over a year, but it has only really handled commuting duties. Today will be a 6 hour trip because of the move from jacksonville fl to the ATL. I hope the muffler deletes don't wear on me too much.

Here's a pic of my ride.

As someone who drove a fart cannon'd car from Ottawa to Oromocto NB (that would be 660 miles approx) I can confidently inform you, you won't even notice it after a bit.

I'm a huge fan of Kona Blue on the 5.0's (Although I don't think the blue on the 14's is Kona Blue?) but grabber is growing on me quickly.

the '14 is deep impact blue. I have a buddy who has that color. It is pretty, but hard to keep clean.

I uses it have a crx with exhaust. It was loud. I'm just concerned about the drone on the stang .

Did a 3 hr drive in this.

Kinja'd!!!

The exhaust was glass packs that are 20 years old so they are gone all burnt out.

Still it was a blast to drive and just turn the radio up.

Last year I did the drive from Ottawa, Ontario to Carlisle, Pennsylvania - with Catted X-Pipes and a set of Ford Racing Mufflers and you really couldn't tell. It was loud yeah but not obnoxious, and you kind of just tune them out after a while.

Safe travels though!

I drive a cat-deleted, glass-packed 4.0L XJ with mud tires, don't even notice anymore. Turn up the radio and you'll be fine :)

I did a 12 hr drive from Kansas to Louisiana Dec 27th of last year in my '10 Camaro, then turned right around and made it about 4 hours back before I had to stop and crash for a few hours before driving the rest of the way. I slept for almost an entire day when I got back and was sick for 3 days, probably from the cool winter air coming in across the back of my neck for so long.

Mustang road trips are the best road trips. Also, I have the sexuals for your car.

that makes two of us! I absolutely love it. The only thing I would rather have is the boss, but that's not happening anytime soon. Plus I daily none, so I get better mileage with the .331s

I could totally see the fun, but not comfortable with that one.

Totally get it, was looking into a Boss (I hope they come down in cost just a bit more in the next few..or we'll see how the 2015 Stang looks) at one point after I lost my 05 Mustang GT (4.10's; NOT a DD) and I also had muffler deletes. Sound didn't bother me much, unless I was trying to have in-depth conversations with whoever was with me! Have a fun trip, that sounds badass!

Awesome stang! Is it stock under the hood?

thanks. Yes, under the hood is stock. The only modifications to the vehicle have been the stereo system I put in and the Pypes Pype bomb axle back muffler deletes. I love the car, and have a blast every time I drive it.

I can only imagine! I've heard the 5.0 is a real peach, power everywhere. Do you have the track or brembo package?

Kinja'd!!! GTCL > brakesnow

Kinja'd!!!0

I don't have either package. I wish it had the track package, but I'm second owner soI didn't get to order it. I will probably eventually get the brembos (most likely from a boss 302 or track pack car) for the fronts, but not for a while. The brembos don't fit inside of my wheels, so I have to get new wheels first. We shall see what happens. Just bought a new house, so car is put on hold for a bit. The house is getting all of the money right now.

Understandable, a buddy of mine just picked up a stang with the brembo package and he loves it. I feel your pain on the wheel fitment issues, I need to get different wheels before I get STI brembo's on the legacy, makes the cost even harder to swallow..
